The first of the projects is at the Port of Felixstowe, where 5 STS quayside cranes are being heightened by 9.25 meters and a further 5 increased by 5.25 meters later this year. The project, which commenced in July 2017, includes the relocation of the cranes to a temporary construction site, the electrical upgrade and installation of a new spreader cable reel system and various automation and mechanical improvements.

The second project, at the BEST terminal in Barcelona, will see 3 STS cranes have their capacity increased by 5 meters in height. The heightening procedure of the cranes has been designed to speed up turnaround, ensuring that operational downtime is kept to a minimum.
